Mr. Ken Good, former Naval Special Warfare operator brings doctrines of small unit tactics, communication procedures, use of weapons, demolition techniques, employment of pyrotechnics, land, sea and airborne operations, parachuting, closed and open circuit SCUBA diving. His military experience also includes the instruction of techniques and doctrine to members of foreign militaries. Following his active-duty commitment, Mr. Good spent the next 10 years directing (GS-12) several anti-terrorism, physical security, small arms and minor caliber weapons programs for the Department of the Navy (DON). Mr. Good received numerous awards for his performance during this service. TACTICAL TRAINING INSTITUTIONS / PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT As a natural outgrowth of Combative Concepts Inc., Mr. Good at the request of John Matthews (owner of Surefire) became the founding director of the Surefire Institute, a well-known low-light training institution that was staffed with former military and law enforcement personnel and supported by an extensive adjunct staff from around the country. Using the concepts and lessons learned through the DON programs and Combative Concepts Inc., this Institute initially focused on the issues associated with prevailing in low-light environments but regularly addressed the full-spectrum of CQC. This program was unique for its time as there was no formal training addressing this particular arena. The Institute was quite successful and remains in operation today. This division was instrumental in influencing the development of many of the Surefire’s products as well as codifying doctrine current in use throughout law enforcement and military circles. After leaving the Surefire Institute in May of 2002, Mr. Good founded another tactical training company, “Strategos International”. The mission was to provide armed professionals with the highest-quality training possible as well as the appropriate field-tested products to prevail in stressful conditions. Founding members of this company were the core instructors, and long-time leaders of the previous Institution. It was our firm belief that merely covering the gaps in an operator's performance with a thin veneer of check-the-box-type training is futile and unproductive. Strategos International is still offering training courses that are a wise investment for serious operators. Mr. Good is currently is a guest instructor at many notable tactical training institutions. AUTHOR Please see:
